Where software meets the mission.
Why Washington, D.C.
The capital region: govtech, cybersecurity, and the data-center backbone of the internet, a short Metro ride from the Mall. Our home base sits in Vienna, VA, in the Tysons tech corridor.
The DC metro quietly became one of the country's densest engineering markets. Northern Virginia (Tysons, Reston, Ashburn) is "Data Center Alley," carrying a huge share of the world's internet traffic, and the region concentrates cybersecurity, defense-tech, and applied-AI work you won't find anywhere else. Build where the stakes are real, the problems are hard, and clearance-track careers are on the table.
Life at Lateral here
Senior people, real ownership.
- Peers selected for their work: there is always someone to learn from
- AI-amplified tooling as standard: a supervised agent stack on every desk
- Hybrid by default: the office is a place you want to be, not have to be
- Real ownership of the outcome, not tickets handed down a chain
