The problem
Ezra wanted to make early cancer screening more accessible. A full-body MRI took about an hour and cost over $1,500. Making it easier to book was part of the job. Making the scan faster was another.
Our work
We have been Ezra’s technology partner since the company started. We helped build the platform from the ground up, then worked alongside its team on Ezra Flash.
For members: booking, payments, scheduling and results.
For clinical teams: software to move a study from the scanner to a signed report.
Behind both: system architecture, machine learning and computer vision, with HIPAA requirements built into how we handle patient data.
Ezra’s clinical and product teams set the direction. We build and maintain the software with them.
A faster scan
Faster MRI scans can produce noisier images. Ezra Flash uses AI to reduce that noise, helping shorten the scan while preserving image quality.
Our work includes the software behind Flash and the evaluation tools used to check each release. The FDA cleared Flash in 2023 and an advanced model in 2025.

The result
Ezra is now part of Function Health, putting a faster whole-body MRI within reach of members across roughly 100 US locations.
We continue to be involved in their mission, with a focus on the hard problems in computer vision.
Lateral has been our engineering partner since the company existed. They built Flash, they built the platform, and they treat our problem like it's their problem. That's why we still work with them six years in.
